Don't expect me to queue up when iPhone3G lands in India later this year, although I may get a launch preview from being a customer of Bharti Airtel (one of iPhone's two service providers in India). As a long-time Ericssonite—my first cell phone was the chunky NH237 back in 1996—I'm not sure I can shift my loyalties easily. Moreover, despite Apple's claim that iPhone works better with work programs, I'm perfectly happy with BlackBerry's Microsoft Exchange integration through my P1i, Sony Ericsson's most powerful smartphone yet. In fact, I plan to upgrade the phone to Xperia X1, when Sony Ericsson launches it in India around the time that iPhone rings in. Xperia will run on 3.5G cellular network, bringing the Internet faster than iPhone3G can. In fact, speed can be an iPhone downside: the 3G speed happens only if you're in one of AT&T’s 3G network areas—and there's a few of them around the world. Let's see how iPhone3G roars in India, a steadily advancing market for mobile phone technology.

Hi Paul! I've been using an iPhone since September last year (probably the first person to have one here in Pampanga). For my own purposes, the iPhone is the best mobile phone I've had so far. What keeps it interesting is that everyday, they have new applications to download and tinker with. But still, like you said its really a matter of choice.
George, you're right about iPhone's applications -- no other phone can beat it in terms of add-ons. Just check the Apps store and you'll wish that Nokia, Samsung, and Sony Ericcsson would have such wealth of applications. Plus, holding an Apple assures you of a certain prestige -- which only Sony Ericcson can outdo :) :)
Why don't you try using one Paul? Then you can really make an objective comparison when you upgrade to an Xperia X1. Who knows, you might become the latest convert yet :-)
You're tempting me, you rascal :) Sige, we'll see. I just read the news an hour back that Apple stores will be opened in India by one of our competitors (Reliance Retail) so there'll be fun times ahead.
